Then you are scheduled for an initial one-hour consultation where information will be gathered to determine which tests will be ordered. The testing is then placed in the prepaid mailers and mailed directly to the lab.
When Connected Pathways is notified by the lab that the test results are completed (usually within 3 weeks), a one-hour interpretation consultation will scheduled on a teleconference line with one of our practitioners. At the completion of the interpretation consult the custom Nutrients Paks are formulated based on the test results. The order for your custom pak is placed with the manufacturer and sent to our office in 7 to 10 days. They are then shipped to you. You will be assigned a Nutritional (Support) Coach will contact you at this time to set up your weekly sessions. The Weekly Support Sessions with your Nutritional Coach/Healthcare Practitioner are designed to help you through the detox process and balancing bio chemistry.
Why Diagnostic Testing?
Four or five tests are usually ordered and sent to your home. The test kits are easy to use. Blood, urine, saliva and hair samples for the tests are needed to complete a diagnostic picture of your unique nutritional needs that will be supported with the Comprehensive Health and Wellness Program offered.
Toxic exposure commonly occurs through a multitude of ways from substance abuse, air pollution, tooth fillings, skin creams, and paint dyes, to batteries, seafood, vegetables, even tap water. The presence of toxic metals often cause symptoms related to mood disorders, problems focusing and addictions since the toxins prevent the natural regulation of neurotransmitters in the brain. Eventually, this increasing toxic burden can trigger a variety of physical and cognitive disorders, including depression, anxiety, memory loss, addiction and fatigue. The Hair Test gives us this needed information.
The Urine Test measures key organic acids to evaluate gastrointestinal function, cellular energy production, neurotransmitter processing, and the functional need for vitamins and minerals. Additionally, co-factors and amino acids assessment evaluates dietary protein adequacy, digestion, absorption, amino acid transport, metabolic impairments, and other nutritional deficits
The Blood Spot: A simple finger stick sample collection kit will be sent for collection of tiny blood samples for the amino acid analysis. This provides essential information about amino acid precursors for neurotransmitter production and other critical information about metabolism and brain function.
The Saliva Test evaluates levels of important stress hormones, cortisol and DHEA. An increased or a decreased cortisol level is an indication of a chronically stressful physical or mental condition. Stress is a major underlying cause of many chronic conditions, from fatigue to mood problems to food and environmental allergies. A stressful lifestyle can lead to consistently high levels of cortisol which may be damaging to the brain and other tissues. Cortisol elevation also impacts immune responses and it can affect carbohydrate, protein, and lipid metabolism as well as thyroid function. The symptoms of adrenal “burnout,” or subnormal cortisol levels, can mimic many psychological problems.
